Since the late 1940's, Veneklasen Associates has pioneered the design of high quality audio-visual systems. Initially concentrating on the design of sound reinforcement systems for auditoriums, churches, convention centers and hotels, many of these systems incorporated the firm's own design innovations - bi-amplification, column arrays and pressure zone microphones. Veneklasen Associates' Scope of Services typically includes the following steps:
Programming Phase
- Discuss the clients needs; provide a questionnaire to stimulate discussion; observe his present system
- Discuss available options, standardization, flexibility, control systems, equipment preferences
- Discuss available budget, phasing
- Provide a design narrative, options, opinion of probable cost, priorities, alternatives
Design Phase
- Coordination with architect, consultants - location of equipment, power and heat load requirements
- Develop infrastructure, conduit, receptacles
- Develop equipment schedules, block diagrams details
- Complete construction documents, specifications in three-part CSI format, etc.
- Final coordination with architect and consultants.
Bidding
- Provide a list of qualified audio-visual contractors, system integrators
- Attend bidder's conference, if required.
- Prepare addenda, if required.
- Evaluate bids and provide recommendations.
Construction Administration
- Respond to RFI's
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals
- Provide site observations
- Participate in system acceptance testing
- Review operation and maintenance manuals
- Participate in system commissioning
