Digital Media Campus was a "dot.com" incubator. With investments from noted celebrities including Shaquille O'Neil, Pamela Anderson, and Oscar De La Hoya, the concept was to combine a management company, advertising agency, architectural design firm, and back-end network services in an environment conducive to starting and growing digital businesses in sports, entertainments, and technology related fields.

Utilizing 176,000 feet of Category 6 cable and supported by 1,700 feet of chrome cable support tray, over 300 workstations were equipped with 1,025 high-performance data outlets. Each workstation was equipped with VoIP phones in a state-of-the-art Cisco environment. All network distribution rooms were linked to the main equipment room with both single-mode and multi-mode fiber, which carried all voice, data, and video information for the building's multiple entertainment and information systems.

A key architectural element was the four distinct quadrants of the building, with each quadrant's communications needs fed by its own identifying cable color.
