Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego
VA Scope: Exterior Noise and Vibration (Rail)

Location: La Jolla, California
Client: HR Weatherford Company
Completion: 2005 (estimated)
A new satellite for the main museum in La Jolla, this facility transforms the historic Santa Fe Depot Baggage Building and two adjacent structures, effectively doubling the institution's exhibition space. Originally constructed in 1915, the mission style rail station remains in use today. The project represents a unique public/private partnership between the museum, the City, a redevelopment agency, a private developer, and public transportation agencies including Amtrak. The design architect is Gluckman Mayner Architects (New York) with Milford Wayne Donaldson in San Diego.
