Fifth Appellate District Courthouse VA Scope: Acoustical Consultation and Audio-Visual Design  Location: Fresno, CA Design Team: AC Martin Partners Completion: 2007 Cost: $25 million This courthouse was established to accommodate booming population growth in California's Central Valley. The three-story, 61,000 square foot building is on a 1.25 acre site and includes one courtroom; chambers for eleven justices; offices for attorneys, clerks and other staff; a library, conference and administrative space. The single, large-size courtroom is rests between two landscaped courtyards, allowing for natural light and contributing to the building's energy efficiency, which will exceed state annual requirements by 17 percent. Veneklasen Associates provided both acoustical consultation and audio-visual design which included video projection systems and Community Action TV (CATV) in the conference rooms, and an audio-visual performance monitoring programs. |
