Congregation Beth Israel is San Diego's oldest and largest Jewish congregation, with roots dating back to 1861 when San Diego was a frontier settlement. Beth Israel's new $18 million campus consists of three acres with five buildings totaling more than 65,000 square feet. Veneklasen Associates provided comprehensive acoustical and audio-visual consulting services for the main sanctuary, social hall, chapel and K-6 school. Located below the flight path of Miramar Joint Forces Training Base, project challenges include isolating the sanctuary and school from aircraft over flight.
